Residence Community for Working People
Are you working a low-wage job and having a hard time finding housing you can afford?
The Residence Community for Working People provides rooms, studios, and one-bedroom apartments for low-wage workers priced out of the housing market.
Residents pay a monthly program fee which includes housing, all or most utilities, and personal support and assistance. Some units are fully furnished.
This is not exactly like renting an apartment. For the safety of our brothers and sisters in recovery we require that all buildings in the Residence Community be free of alcohol and illegal drugs.
Residents are expected to earn enough from employment to pay for food, transportation, clothing, and other basic needs.
Monthly fees for the Residence Community start at $200 per month for a locked, private bedroom in a house where you will share the living room, kitchen, and bathroom with housemates. We have 11 rooms in the program.
We have 16 studio apartments and 2 small one-bedroom apartments. The monthly fee for these units is $280. We have 2 one-bedroom apartments for $300 per month and 13 one-bedroom apartments for $350 per month.
Each month we gather for a Community Dinner to enjoy an excellent meal, to build relationships, to win door prizes, and to learn about opportunities.
We also have a Support Coordinator to help you address issues that come up in your life.
If you have a job but can’t find housing you can afford, we would like to help you.
Contact us at 269-349-2119 between 3 pm and 10 pm Sunday through Thursday to ask for an application and to see if we have a current opening.
